As Black Friday and Cyber Monday grow nearer, both online and offline retailers are gearing up for holiday shopping. But, what do people really buy online?
Perhaps not surprisingly clothing top the charts, with online sales representing around 66% of all apparel purchases or $13.6b in revenues for e-commerce sites. When it comes to electronics, it seems that people shop equally online as offline: 52% of consumers make their purchases in-store.
Offline shopping is king when it comes to drugs and health aids, a sector with revenues of $55.68 billion, 91% of which result from brick and mortar sales.
