Wednesday, February 12 2014

Workplace competition isn't just among employees. Companies also compete to be recognized as one of the "Best Places To Work." Nowadays, with the power invested by social media, corporate reputations are as important as ever as employees are quick to reward or expose their companies; reinforcing brand value.

best-companies-workplaceLeading companies were from the consulting and technology sectors, but there were a wide range of companies listed as well, from Equipment specialist John Deere to Costco. For the organizations, the awards serve as recognition of their efforts to put people first.

Professional growth, development and learning opportunities are some of the most valued qualities of this year's top players. Glassdoor, a career services site, has conducted its annual Employee's Choice Awards, which evaluates US companies with over 1000 employees. The survey was based on employee satisfaction with key work factors

What were the winning qualities?

  • Strong company culture
  • Learning opportunities
  • Collaborative atmosphere
  • Work/Life Balance
  • Growth Opportunities

Womenalia has chosen to highlight their selection of best companies to work for, although other sites such as Great Place to Work, have their own (similar) list.
